Accessibility statement
Draft for review. This statement reports our own checks. It is not an independent audit and does not claim that the site meets every requirement.
Last updated 6 October 2026. We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, a small phone or a zoomed screen. We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we checked
- Automated checks with the axe tool on 13 pages (home, project map, project list, report form, a report, local alerts, sign-in, FAQ, privacy notice, terms, contractors, contact, report-number search), in English and Filipino, on a desktop screen, a phone and a 320 pixel wide screen. After fixes it found no failures.
- Keyboard only. We moved through the main pages with the Tab key. Every control can be reached and shows where the focus is. A project can be opened from the project list with Enter, the popup can be reached with Tab and closed with Escape, and focus goes back to the list.
- Small screens and zoom. At 320 pixels wide nothing is cut off and the page does not scroll sideways. The contractor table scrolls inside its own box, which can be reached with the keyboard. The site does not stop you from zooming.
- Colour. Text and links meet the minimum contrast. Links inside sentences are underlined, so they do not rely on colour alone.
What we have not done yet
- We have not tested with a screen reader such as NVDA, VoiceOver or TalkBack. The automated checks cannot tell us how the pages sound.
- No outside expert has audited the site.
- We have not tested the staff and administrator pages.
Known limits
- The map pins cannot be selected with the keyboard. The project list beside the map shows the same projects and can be used instead.
- On the home page, local alerts and sign-in pages the cursor starts in the first text box, so the menu is skipped until you move back to it.
- The map pictures come from OpenStreetMap and have no text description. Each project’s details are in its popup and in the list.
- Photos that residents add are described only by the report’s title.
